In order to become a tōtus expert freelancer, you must take a test through the Job Posting page to verify your skills for the position!

Go to ‘Job Posting’ page to check current job postings that are open for applications.
2.
Click the Job Posting that you want to view its 'Job Posting Details’ page.
3.
On the right sidebar, after inputting your Relevant Experience (leave it blank for no experience) and attaching your resume, click ‘Take the test now’.
(Optional) If you have relevant experience, input the appropriate dates into the fields.
(Optional) Upload a resume/portfolio.
4.
After your test has been evaluated, we will notify you via email.

To get expert review feedback, you must use one ‘Expert Review Ticket’.
Tests labeled with the ‘Get a Free Review’ label are free. (But it may take some time to see your results as there may be many applicants for free tests).

Not only does expert review allow you to receive detailed feedback, reviewers may also give test-takers ‘recommendations’.
When a reviewer gives a ‘recommendation,’ a stamp is automatically received.

While test-takers may view evaluation details and comments, currently, it is not possible to see if you have received a recommendation or not.

The tōtus rating system is a unique workmanship rating that takes into account the complexities of translation work. It is based on three key factors: 1. Work Competence: This includes the localization test scores at the time of registration as tōtus Expert or the quality of actual project. 2. Work Attitude : This includes the applicant’s work diligence and communication skills. 3. Guide Compliance : This includes the applicant’s compliance with references, such as Style Guidelines and Story Note/Design Note, as well as their ability to apply feedback. This rate will be set when verifying skills first time, it may go up and down flexibly while working.

The tōtus Rating System is divided into three ranks for each position.
The rank earned upon passing the test is not fixed and may be adjusted up or down based on attitude and the quality of work.
This system ensures that honest and hardworking tōtus Experts receive more tasks.

Your profile completeness may reach 20% when you enter basic information after signing up tōtus, and it may reach 100%.

└─4-6-1 What is Expert Review

It is a Position that only review and evaluate translation or typesetting tasks professionally.
As an expert reviewer, you can earn evaluation fees ranging from ₩3,000 to ₩25,000 (KRW) per task.
Also, an Expert Reviewer doesn’t need to wait until PM (Project Manager) assigns you tasks, since an Expert Reviewer is allowed to access tests submitted by other users on a first-come, first-served basis, so you can conduct reviews based on your schedule flexibly.

We monitor the reviews of test results from ‘Free Trial Test’ on the top of tōtus homepage within the company to select potential candidates who evaluate diligently and objectively, and we offer a position as a ‘1:1 Expert Reviewer’ among them via e-mail.

Webtoon Translator/Typesetter
You can ask questions directly to the proofreader if you have any doubts.
However, please be especially cautious not to overly rely on the proofreader for aspects that the translator/typesetter should independently assess.
Webtoon Proofreader
Providing feedback to the translator/typesetter in the feedback section (formerly known as 'Comment') is the same.
However, if you have feedback to remind something which is not modified, then communicate by tagging (@)a person who need to receive the message via ToTalk.

In Episode 5, '어머니의 날' was translated as '어버이 날,' but in Episode 7, '아버지의 날' appears again. Can you change '어머니의 날' in Episode 5 back to the original '어머니의 날'?
This text is a Korean-style joke, and a literal translation wouldn't be suitable for English-speaking audiences. That's why I provided an adapted translation.

You'll receive a Slack notification when you’re assigned the project.

Lots of readers and viewers may immediately notice the poor, awkward translation in cultural contents and localization. So we demand extra effort and care.
tōtus reviews and checks the quality of works based on working time, whether using auto translator, etc. by randomly sampling files before delivering every month.
According to Article 12 paragraph 1 of tōtus Terms of Use, tōtus Experts can’t provide translation using auto programs such as Google Translate, Papago, etc. It may lead to ne imposed penalty when violating it.
